LGBT children and youth are disproportionately involved in the child welfare system as compared to the general population. This presentation will introduce research from the Family Acceptance Project, which indicates the impact of family rejecting or accepting behaviors on the LGBT child’s wellbeing, including specific language that has an influence. The session will also demonstrate the impact of early prevention through case scenarios
