This session will detail the impact of the opioid crisis in Iowa, the Iowa Department of Public Health’s response, and paint a picture of the toll of accidental overdoses, opioid use disorders, and the availability of prescription and illicit opioids in Iowa. Local and regional partnerships and grant services have expanded prevention and treatment capacity in Iowa to create opioid-informed communities. Learn about the strategies to address the issue used by the Bureau of Substance Abuse in partnership with state and local stakeholders.
