Lisa D’Aunno, J.D, is the Director of Training at the National Resource Center for Family Centered Practice at the University of Iowa School of Social Work. Lisa has extensive trainer experience around family support, child welfare in-home services, safety planning, substance affected families, supervision, paternal involvement, cultural competence, ethics, and family involvement in decision-making. Lisa co-authored and trains the Iowa Family Support Supervisor Certification curriculum. Lisa’s career includes stints as the director of the federally funded National Resource Center for In-Home Services, Director of Best Practice Projects for the Illinois Department of Children and Family Services Office of the Inspector General, family law staff attorney at Prison Legal Services of Michigan, Michigan Children’s Trust Fund board member, and community organizer in Baltimore, Kansas City, and Ann Arbor, Michigan. Lisa is also an Adjunct Associate Professor at the University of Iowa School of Social Work, where she teaches child welfare policy and practice, human services supervision and family law. She has also taught law and social work at the University of Michigan Law School and University of Chicago School of Social Services Administration.
