Monica Wilke-Brown is the Project Director for the State Targeted Response on Opioids at the Iowa Department of Public Health. She recently completed the Screening Brief Intervention and Referral to Treatment (SBIRT) grant, which integrated substance use screenings into primary care medical services and the National Guard. She also assists with the Medication Assisted Treatment grant, County Substance Abuse grant, and Iowa's Child Protection Centers' grant. Monica's prior experiences include HIV Prevention work as a Peace Corps Volunteer in Ecuador, substance abuse and violence prevention, work with international students and immigrant groups in St. Louis, and nearly ten years directing Community Services programming at a Central Iowa non-profit.
